Photographer's Note

While the process of the spring melt is underway, there is still much water making its way north along the Athabasca River, in the direction of Jasper. It is mid-morning and the sun's warmth is far from a peak at this time of year. Around the Falls, access is excellent with a number of walkways and explanatory plaques placed conveniently for visitors. Of interest, near the top of this photograph and to the left, an apparently horizontal line marks the route of the Icefields Parkway. Beyond the trees, the dark mass is Mount Kerkeslin.
