Yağmur izin verirse, Malecon'da çeşitli grupların geçişi olacak (müzik ağırlıklı, çünkü şenlik olarak kutlanıyor). Belli olmaz, yeniden canlandı denilen Fedal Castro Ruz da kutlamalara katılır.

Kentin her mahallesi değilse de turistlerin pek uğramadığı, ama onlara yakın mahalleler bayraklarla ve basit süslerle bezenmişti.

26 July is one of the important days in Cuba. Dia de la Rebelidia, or Day of the National Rebelliousness. There are Cuban, "26 Lulio" flags on some streets of the city and some of important buildings.

Wikipedia says:
The date after which the revolutionary movement (M 26-7) was named. In the morning of July 26, 1953, some 160 men under the command of Fidel Castro attacked the Moncada army garrison in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba's second-largest city. Although this action crushingly failed, it is seen as the beginning of the Castro-led insurrection that expelled Fulgencio Batista. There are normally two or three days public holiday together.
