Photographer's Note

The image was taken from the Silverhorn, which is a secondary peak, during the descent of Mt. Athabasca on the normal route. To put matters in perspective, the three dots that can be seen on top of the ridge are three climbers that have just started their descent. On bottom right one sees a small piece of the Saskatchewan Glacier that flows out of the Columbia Icefield and is the origin of the North Saskatchewan River. In the background, numerous glaciated peaks that stretch as far as the eye can see into British Columbia.
