Photographer's Note
Early this morning grabbed this shot with my iPhone using Camera + app with clarity setting. The friend I was with reminded me that only 8 weeks ago the sun was rising in line with the gap through Sydney Heads (nearly far right of frame).
http://www.sydney.com/destinations/sydney/sydney-north/mosman/attractions/balmoral-beach says, "Beautiful houses and expensive yachts, and a beach that is postioned with views over Sydney Harbour National Park and through "the Heads" - the gateway to Sydney Harbour.
It's an ideal place for a quick swim and takeaway fish and chips at sunset. In fact, you can take your rollerblades, dog, bike, sailboard and football, or just a picnic basket.
Head to the northern tip of the beach where you'll find a small, shady park behind an old club building. From here, a short walk through the streets or around the rocks will take you to Chinamans Beach.
Does have an enclosed swimming area. Next to the boatshed are the swimming baths, enclosed by shark nets and a wide boardwalk. The best toilets, showers and change rooms are found at the rear of the Bathers' Pavilion".

Well composed photo. I especially like the balance and symmetry of the sun vs the gap and the sky vs the sand. Crazy this was taken with an iPhone! I does seem like the shore break might be a bit over sharpened. Keep em coming.

Hi Graham,
the colours are very good throughout the shot, composition very good. Let's not forget the fact that this was taken on an i phone, and it makes the shot even more impressive.

Well good to see that the red issue hasn't interfered with the photo job. great shot, beautiful colours and marvellous exposure. The quality of this shot is impressive. What an interesting observation that the sun has moved so far around from when it was in between the Heads not so long ago. There's winter-a-comin'! Cheers and I hope you've recovered.
See you Sunday!
