new nostalgia for hotel vast horizon

The Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong dates from the 192O's and was founded by members of the Kadoorie family with the idea that it would be "the finest hotel east of Suez".

It was located directly opposite the quays where ocean liner passenvers disembarked, which was also the last stop on the trans-Siberian rail link that brought travellers from Europe to China.

Nowadyas it is the flagship property of The Peninsula Hotels group. It combines colonial and modern elements and is notable for its large fleet of Rolls-Royces painted the distinctive "Peninsula green" (since 2006).

In the movies, this hotel was featured in the James Bond classic The Man with the Golden Gun and in The Dark Knight.

No, we didn't sleep there.
