Photographer's Note

Situated at subtropical area over range upon range of slopes from a height of 140 to 2000 m above sea level, this place is renowned for its vast terraced rice fields. The landscape colour changes vividly through the year and little wonder why this place was granted the title of "Magic Mountain Sculptors" by the Ming Emperor in the 14th century.

From the tidy and well-constructed fields, anyone has to admit that it is a human engineering feat only made by those hard working "Hani" people from generation after generation.

Taken at Duoyishu in Yuanyang with 200mm lens whilst I was sitting on a high ridge on a misty afternoon when the condition had not looked very promising initially, but sudden break of light was what appealed to me, where the vantage pointed into the myriad of endless curving terraces.......
