Happy New Year, Everyone!

Yesterday I posted some fake sausages, now I'm posting some fake fireworks. I was going to continue my food series when I realized this was going to be my last posting in 2007. So I thought I'd post something special for the welcoming of the new year and get back to food tomorrow.

I shot this just yesterday and I didn't have to think too long about what picture I should choose for this occasion. This is a flower of an indoor plant that blooms around this time each year and is somewhat appropriately called a "Christmas plant". Back home, in Romania, we have it there too and we also call it by a name "Craciunita" which translated literally would mean practically the same thing. To me the flower in this picture looks like fireworks and that's why I thought about it.
