Photographer's Note

I'm just back from a great trip to Alaska and Hawaii, 2 very contrasting destinations. The absolute highlight of the trip was a small ship (only 80 passengers) cruise from and returning to Juneau around parts of the Inside Passage. I'll get onto that cruise in the next few days, but first, a photo from Juneau, Alaska's capital.
Some of you will know that Alaska was Russian controlled until they sold it to the USA in 1867. There are still signs of Russian occupation around Alaska and several towns have Russian Orthodox churches. This is a tiny and very cute one in Juneau. It doesn't look like it could hold many people.

Best in the large view.
