Photographer's Note

Nature in the Suburbs: this strain is somewhat "designer!" The City of Chino is in the westernmost part of San Bernardino County, the largest county in California; it was incorporated in 1910. It's agricultural history, however, dates to the Spanish land grant that formed the Rancho Santa Ana del Chino, which specialized in orchard and row crops and was once the largest dairy area in the US, but most of the dairies are moving out now. Honestly, it's now best at "growing" houses (!) because there has been tremendous development over the last decade, and many industrial buildings now sit on the sites of old dairies and farms, but there are still numerous dairies in adjacent cities, such as Corona and Norco. It also has its own small fairgrounds and a municipal airport which hosts the famous Chino Air Show each year.
