Photographer's Note

I never get tired of seeing the great Superstition Mountains in Pinal county Arizona. I used to live very close to these peaks. Here in the middle of August when desert heat is not very forgiving. The heat can lay waste to all that are not prepared. One spark can set the desert ablaze. In the first of July this year. 120.000 acres were ablaze in this wilderness. The fire caused a lot of damage to the fragile habitat. Still the view and legend bring me back year after year. These colors are correct for this time of day around 1900 hrs local. The colors change constantly throughout the day depending on the intensity and angle of the sun.
