Photographer's Note

In some of my other postings from the Falls Creek area there are patches of burnt and bleached gum trees, the result of massive fires in 2003.
Today the view of the hills just below the ski resort of Falls Creek. I've done this one in monochrome but if you prefer some colour go to the workshop for a colour version of the same scene. This photo gives you an idea of how extensive the fires were and this is but a tiny portion of what was burnt.
The tall straight trees are the skeletons of Mountain Ash trees (a eucalypt) whilst the lower multi-trunked trees are snow gums. New trees can be seen growing under the old. A surreal scene.
