Photographer's Note

Returning by car from Mitta Mitta, 400km from Melbourne in Victoria's north-east, after visiting friends who live on what must be one of the state's most remote but beautiful farms, we drove up the Sandy Creek Road to buy some herbs. The lovely Sandy Creek valley leaves the highway between Lockhart's Gap and the township of Tangambalanga, running south towards the 'Victorian Alps'. This tiny church with no apparent name, well preserved and possibly still in use, stood under a spring sky full of scudding clouds, inviting me to take a few shots.
