Photographer’s Note
Driving on a back road from Bathurst to Lithgow (through the small villages of Dark Corner & Sunny Corner) I came across these wired fences and gate. I converted the shot to B&W.
In the distant middle FG is the township of Portland. "Portland is only 2 1/2 hours from Sydney. It is an easy 40 minutes to Bathurst and 30 minutes from Lithgow. The town is of interest as an historic mining town and as the place of the first cement works in Australia, which was opened in 1902. Cement produced at the Portland cement works helped build the city of Sydney and the cement was shipped around Australia until the works closed in 1991" (Portland Development Association).
The mountains on the horizon line belong to the Newnes State Forst which lead into the Blue Mountains / Great Dividing Range.

Hi Graham, this shot is so typical of country New South Wales. I love the composition of the gate and fences. Personally, I would have used more Contrast in post-processing, but I can see that you do your photographising "au naturale". I've done a Workshop on this lovely shot. Let me know what you think. Warm regards, Lisa.
