Photographer's Note

Please look also at the large version. I think it looks a little better....

This picture is taken from the beach across the road from my home. The lights are of Broadbeach and Surfer's Paradise, the more 'glitzy' parts of the Gold Coast. Those parts of the Gold Coast are well known internationally and are a beacon to thousands of tourists each year.

The clouds are part of a storm that blew across the city. The light in the sky is lightening behind the clouds. In the foreground is a sandbar exposed by the low tide.

The Gold Coast is the fastest growing city in Australia. Development and progression are the buzz words here. Building sites are appearing daily and the city continues to grow at tremendous speed. The Gold Coast is a lively and energetic city with an interesting future ahead.

This picture is a bit of a technical experiment for me so I would really, really appeciate some input. It is one of my first attempts at night photography, new camera, first tripod. I found it difficult exposing for both the sand bar and lights. Plesae let me know what you would do differently :)
