Photographer's Note

Another project for the preservation of an endangered species is called Projeto Tamar, which is dedicated to the preservation of sea turtles, being present on the coast of several states in the Northeast, Southeast and South regions of Brazil. One of the main causes of turtle death is man-made rubbish. Disposable cups, straws and other plastic packaging can be confused with jellyfish, one of the turtle's main food. This specimen was found dead floating on the water and brought to the sand by bathers. Would it be another victim of the plastic that has been irresponsibly thrown into the sea?
