Photographer's Note

I was measuring the light on this trunk of a tree when this couple of chestnut-eared araçaris (Pteroglossus castanotis) alighted on it posing for the photo. These birds, which are smaller relatives of toucans, inhabit in open environments and usually alight on visible places, especially in the morning. They nest in hollow trees.
