Photographer's Note

The ruddy ground-dove (Columbina talpacoti) has been one of the first Brazilian species to adapt to the urban environment, being the most common native species in most of the country's great cities. It is curious to note that it is usually found in greater quantities in places altered by man than in its own original habitat which are the areas of savannahs and fields.
