Varadouro, a photo from Parana, South

Photographer's Note

Another scan.
Varadouro is the name of the artificial channel between Baía dos Pinheiros, Paranaguá, northern coast of Paraná state, and the bay of Cananéia, southern coast of São Paulo state.
It was made by the man in 1956, separating a portion of land from the continent and so creating the artificial island of Superagüi. Its length is around 6 kilometers and it is around 50 meters wide, cutting the ground parallel to the ocean.
Today the region is protected by the National Park of Superagüi, protecting one of the most important remaider areas of Brazilian Atlantic Forest, and its endangered animals, like the black-faced lion tamarin (Leontopithecus caissara) and the chauá parrot (Amazona brasiliensis).
Crossing the channel, we pass by some little fishermen settlements, like this one. There are no energy in places like this, so most of them has their solar energy like you see.

This photo captures my attention Jose with the water being so close to the chapel and the wonderful reflections of the white building. Also its rather difficult to tell if this is and evening photo or morning....but the water reflections make it well worth the view.

Linda, Zeca.
Não apenas bonita plasticamente, com os reflexos suaves e uma cor de céu extraordinária, mas em função da sua nota me suscita pensamentos, idéias, vontades.
A arquitetura das casas, por exemplo, é absolutamente igual àquela vista em determinados bairros de Belém e mesmo do Oiapoque. As cores fortes - de onde eles tiram esses tons? - tem um quê de divertido, de lúdico e infantil.
Excelente saber que determinados lugares fazem uso da energia solar: é tanto desperdício, é tanta destruição para manter megalópolis ao se construir barragens, de modo que é um alento ver os pequenos painéis de energia solar. Além do que são um elemento estranho de modernidade num lugar onde o mundo ainda não chegou...

Impressionante!! Isso aqui é uma obra de arte!! A iluminação e cores idílicas; a captura perfeitamente escalonada das casinhas e do templo, que salta à vista como um espectro branco, deitando reflexos sobre o espelho d’água em traços cisalhados; os pescadores, flutuando sobre o canal quase em ritual, apoiados em um barco de azul e vermelho decorativo... Parece até uma pintura, salvo pelos quatro painéis fotovoltaicos, uhnf!! Seu scan e tratamento ficaram muito bons. Eu queria ver uma ampliação dessa, que beleza.
Quanto à oposição ecologicamente (politicamente) correta entre “modernidade consumista” e “idílio preservacionista”, não poderia haver maior bobagem: o painel fotovoltaico é fruto da dinâmica de inovação e aumento de produtividade do sistema de mercado. Se fôssemos ser coerentes com essa utopia-distopia ecopsicótica, não teríamos nem o painel solar, nem a máquina fotográfica, nem o computador, nem o TrekEarth... A barragem é apenas uma resposta possível em um contexto dado. Talvez fosse melhor outra matriz, que certamente não seria a solar (fotovoltaica), por inviável no atual nível de desenvolvimento técnico e escala da demanda. Talvez nuclear, geotérmica, solar (sódio líquido, nanotubos, etc.), fusão, etc. Quando essa vila realmente estiver na “modernidade”, o painelzinho não vai mais bastar.

Grande Zeca,

não é com frequencia que vocÊ posta, mas quando o faz, faz com classe. Que luminosidade interessante. Esses tons azuis contrastando com o brilho da pequena igreja ficaram ótimos. Uma boa porção de reflexo também ficou na medida certa. Slide bem conservado e ótima digitalização. Parabéns!

Hi, Jose. The colours of the houses contrast well with the white of the chapel and the buildings stand well out against the sky. The lines on the water surface create a nice pattern and give an interesting aspect to the reflections. The men in the boat give us the scale and add life to the scene.

Primeiro, aquilo ali à esquerda são dois paineis solares? Outra coisa que salta à vista é a ausência de cabos eléctricos.
Este tom azulado é muito interessante, primeiro porque dá um certo ar misterioso à imagem e depois porque não sei bem como o conseguiste. Será que era muito cedo no dia?
Para concluir, está muito linda e gosto muito do brilho na fachada da igrejinha.

the colours are absolutely fantastic, the cool blue and purple tones create a feeling of a calm evening, I find it very relaxing. the white wall of the chuch is just the right accent, and works well as a background for the fishermen. beautiful photo, and very impressive quality.

Bom dia Zeca!
Você deve ter um excelente scanner, pois o resultado está perfeito! (Nunca gostei de escanear fotos pela péssima qualidade que obtinha e abandonei a prática! Preciso descobrir um bom para, talvez, voltar e resgatar digitalmente algumas fotos de que gosto muito!).
Sobre este exemplo, gostei bastante, pelas cores, nitidez, texturas, composição e ponto de vista! Tudo junto, conseguiu mostrar de uma maneira simples, um lugar simples, mas que transmite idéias e emoções as mais diversas!

Light is wonderful as same your timing while fishermen busy with their case. There must be some stories already hanged to side facade of this beautiful chapel. Same tones of blue on sky and water are magnificent.

Uma linda foto! O PdV frontal adequa-se às formas simples das frontarias, que fazem um belo conjunto pictórico. Não sei se todo esse azul é devido à luz (amanhecer?) e aos reflexos da água e do céu ou à distorção de cor do original ou introduzida pelo scanner, mas o certo é que até resulta bem. A qualidade é apreciável para um scan.
Bela câmara, essa AE-1 Program, embora não tenha tido nenhuma, tirei bastantes fotos com as de amigos meus e pensei mais do que uma vez em comprar uma.

Gosto do azul cor de anil já com tendências ao violeta - esta é a percepção que tenho desta tonalidade singular, que dá a impressão de ter sido numa hora bem matutina. Os reflexos na água estão muito artísticos. Uma composição muito bem conseguida, incluindo os pescadores que partem cedo para o trabalho e aqueles painéis solares que falam melhor do que qualquer palavra.

The scan quality is excellent. Lovely view with the boats in front of the simple church. The layered reflection of the church on the channel waters is very attractive. there is, in my humble opinion, a bluish cast on the image, but it does add to the blue of the water & the sky. Good work!
