Photographer's Note
The Snail Kite is an endangered bird of prey that feeds on apple snails. It uses a favorite perch to feed most of the time, this enable me to be at the right place at the right time. I saw the fallen tree in the morning and it was on an egret route to their roost. So I set the tripod just before the sunset in a position where I could make the photograph. Well, it paid off, the kite was in place with the flying herons and the sunset in the back ground! If you study your subject, learn the different types of light and make the picture in your mind you will attain you rewards in a big way.

This burnt orange sunset provides a great backdrop to highlight the outline of the Snail Kite bird and the branches of the fallen tree. Nicely composed.
