Photographer’s Note
The Royal Guard at the Royal Castle Amalienborg in Copenhagen taking his stroll once again. A dreadfully boring job, you stand in the box, look straight out for a while, then you walk slowly along the wall for 50 m til you get to a corner, then you stand in the corner facing the wall for a while and finally you walk slowly back to the box. All the time you look straight forward and hug your automatic rifle like a teddy bear.
Nice outfit though!

I really like his sword (or whatever the thing is) pointing at the drain pipe almost looking at it. The sharpness is great, and your note is full of fun.

Glad to see someone had been paying attention not only to the guard's daily activity but to details that he's surrounded with.
Well cropped and composed. Colours are great and details interesting(especially that red thingy).
Good angle, too, Ebbe.

A very well compose shot, Ebbe, and a very good crop. I like the clarity, the excellent sharpness and the green-rusted coppe pipe (which makes a nice contrast to the shiny uniform. Your note is great, too.

Hi Ebbe, you're a good 'cropper' at the moment, I'd say.
It's a very good composition like this, good colours together with some very nice details.
Ttile is nice as well.
I'm sorry about your camera.

Your note is a delight, Ebbe, and the image is original and so especially clear and well composed!
Colors, textures, everything is there, well balanced, as usually!
teddy bear... I am still laughing!
thanks a lot for sharing!

A very nice cropping, Ebbe, creating an excellent composition. Details of the guard and surrounding are well rendered - I notice the red tuft - what's that, if not the dot over the i! The sword and the funny bag (containing what?) together with the white leash(?) and white striped trousers give away a lot of his identity as a Danish 'tin' soldier. A great detail is his bended knee and the bend on the drainpipe. Very well done!
I have some catching up to do among your shots, Ebbe, due to a small email problem. I'll work on it...;o)

Simmple & artful composition with lovely contrasting colours, Ebbe! I like that he is holding his rifle as a teddy bear, because this way we can enjoy all the details of his clothes very well..:-) Great sharpness and clarity too. Wonderful capture!

superb image! a perfect definition and a compo minimalist which restores the scene perfectly.
I like also contrast between the behaviour impéccable of the soldier and very old pipe

such an excellent pov, i love the timing of the capture showing the bending of his leg, which shows off his stripe and polished shoes, and also reflects the pipe bending in the opposite direction. fantastic!

Very nice and interesting picture! The photographer has created a very strong double downward white arrow by cropping out the upper part of the picture. The black diagonal line in the picture creates a nice triangle with the border of the picture. A second triangle is created since the photo is taken in the middle of a step by the Royal Guard! Simple and clean composition without any disturbing elements in the picture!
Best Regards from
