BEEKMAN TOWER HOTEL

Designed in 1928 by John Mead Howell as the Panhellic Tower, this 23-story orange-brown-brick tower with 380 bedroomsy is one of the city's great Art-Deco skyscrapers. Located on 3 Mitchell Place, at the corner of 1st Avenue and 49th Street, the hotel is also notable for it's rooftop public cocktail lounge with views in all directions.
