Photographer's Note

"Top of the Rock" - The observation deck at Rockefeller Center offers the best view of NYC. At least that's what I think. I've not been to the top of Empire State Building, but I am pretty sure "The Rock" beats it. This is my first posted photo from the US vacation this summer, and in the future I'm going to share a lot more, I hope.

In the picture we see lucky people who payed $18 to get this view. Well worth it. We arrived just after the sunset, unfortunately, but we stayed until the dark, and got to see this magnificent sight. The highest building is Bank of America Tower, which is second highest in the city. All the lights between the buildings come from Times Square. In the background we can see the lights from New Jersey.

Taking this photo was not very easy as we weren't allowed to use tripods up there. So I had to lean the camera on building in a quite special position. A huge challenge! Anyway, it's a great place. But you must expect to stand in line for a while. The queues can be long, but often it will be worth it I think.
