Photographer's Note

I shot this picture during a 5-hours walk on the snow along the "Vall de la Llosa".

This is one of the most wonderful valleys in the Catalan Pyrenees, and the deepest in La Cerdanya. It begins in Viliella, a small village near Lles de Cerdanya, and goes up smoothly following upstream the river of La Llosa until reaching, 7 km later, the mountain borderline with Andorra.

Some years ago, a highway was projected through this valley to connect by means of a tunnel Barcelona and Andorra, but seems to have been discarded by obvious ecological reasons.

I was very fortunate to be the only one doing this walk just after a snowfall, together with my friend Kam Man Yiu. So we could see hundreds of footprints from many different animals.

I was surprised by this particular ones, that seem to belong to 2 individuals, perhaps going one behind the other, that at some point decided to take an alternative path, instead of following its friend.
