Photographer’s Note

Close to Tiergarten bhf and by a canal this building dates back to the Bauhaus days. Originally built by a company manufacturing or selling ceramic products the choice of orange tiles as facade was a natural way of showing what was done inside. Today it houses a part of the Technical University.

I hope my info is correct, it is what I remember that the guide said on a boat trip on tha canal last June. This time I passed on foot in February. Not on the same side of building though. Thought it needed a contrasting color to show the orange. The beaten van of the lab help out.

Apart from a few other things, the amazing thing about this image is how you have boxed in the details so perfectly. The colours and the van just give the whole picture a punch.

Really nice. Sort of in a minimalistic style, but thats an illusion. Theer is so much in this photo. The lines and squares and the overwhelming geometric repetition. Then the beautiful shadows. The van is well positioned in the corner and its bluish tin is a nice cold justaposition to the warm colors of the wall.

Nicely framed, the lines are perfect, great colors. I like the tree on the right side, without it, the compo would so abstract, very good
