Reid State Park Surf Photo

Photographer’s Note

It is a calm evening where the rugged rocks of Reid State Park are exposed to the high surf of the Atlantic coast.
During a storm or high winds this spot is full of salty spray and giant waves but on this night the sea with calm and tranquil.

Hi Tom,
What a beautiful place. I love the way the light is hitting the cliffs, giving off a purplish hue. What time of day did you shoot this? The shapness and overall composition is excellent.

Wow, Tom, what extraordinary light. I love the way there is just a bit of it left and it's catching the waves and those reddish looking rocks. Great composition, sharp detail and marvelous depth. Man, I'd like to be there for a few weeks. Beautifully done!! Many thanks and warm regards,

What a delightful and serene view of the sunset "kissing" the rocks and of the silky waves in th FG.

Hi Tom,
Last sunrays of the evening give deep red tones to those rocks. Waves breaking have spectacular forms. Very nice mood, I can imagine myself stayin there until the night falls.

The light is gorgeous tinting the scene with a subtle pink. Whilst it is a simple composition it is the light that gives it the WOW factor. Well done

Hope your well? This looks rocky like Piha with the gushing waves coming over to the rocks. Nice evening light producing warm tones, and spot on exposures. Simple and tranquil very well done.

Hi Tom!
I just love the feeling and quality of this photo.
I would like to be there at sunset, soaking in the tranquillity and meditating on the beauty of Nature, listening to the waves breaking on the copper-coloured rocks!
The composition is great with the rocks on the left, the beautiful formation of the waves, and in the background the infinity of the horizon!

Maybe the late Charles Trenet was in front of such an appealing scenery when he composed "La Mer" !!
Silver reflexions on the dancing sea, as he wrote!
Gorgeous golden light.

it took me a while to read the note until the end, because the two words "calm evening" together with the photo completely captured my attention :) the description goes so well with the scene - the golden light on the rocks, the pale pink horizon, the rolling waves create a beautiful calm mood. very nice photo, Tom, I like it a lot.
