I believe the photo has a lot of potential and my try on it is just meant to convince you experiment more with it.
Cheers:)

hope You do not mind my little adjustments to your original posting. I thought that a bit of levels adjustments together with colors, sharpness, shadows enlightenment and framing would benefit to your composition.
Enjoy.

(3116) [2010-04-26 09:58:23] [2] | As the background had no value for the composition I just removed it almost completely.
I believe the waterfall is the subject here and the eyes should not be bothered by the background trees and bushes.
What do you think Emmanuel?

(3116) [2010-01-13 08:43:34] | Hello JeanPierre,
I hope you don`t mind I took the liberty to work a bit on your photo. I noticed some small problems with it and I felt it might be improved a little bit:
1. Right from the first sight it looked too green for me so I brought it into Photoshop, measured different areas and indeed, the midtones were on the green side, but not the highlights or the shadows. What I did was a set of curves to correct the color cast problem and I set the blending mode to “Color” so that the contrast remained unchanged.
2. I applied a Shadow-Highlight slight adjustment to bring up a bit more light into the shadows but at this time I had to apply Noise Ninja because the picture was a bit grainy.
3. After the noise reduction I needed to do some sharpening and I did that in CMYK color mode, for the black channel only. Being in CMYK, I applied the Cyan channel to the whole image in “Luminosity” color mode, which made the blue of the sky darker.
4. The next step was in Lab color mode where I boosted the color a bit more, then I saved it for web.
What do you think about the final result, JeanPierre? Is it better, is it worst?
Thanks,
Nelu |

 Mask and gradient | Nelu_Goia
(3116) [2010-01-11 15:06:01] | This is a combination between the first two versions. From Lightroom I opened the files as layers in Photoshop and I masked one of them using a black to transparent gradient on the layer mask. |
