- Hi- Last century I was a newspaper photographer and I have never quite got out of the habit of carrying a camera with me almost everywhere. It's the same when I'm overseas and I treat the occasion as if it was a National Geographic assignment, albeit without the expense account and top-shelf gear. Last time I went away all I had was a Nikon D70 with 18-55mm lens, a 2GB card and three spare batteries, and this lasted five weeks. Anything more would have been superfluous.
