Photographer's Note

Schiermonnikoog is the smallest inhabited Wadden Island:
10 miles long an 2 miles wide, It has only one village, likewise called Schiermonnikoog, and built in 1760. Half of all the plants and flowers listed in the Dutch flora are to be found on the Wadden island Schiermonnikoog. The greater part of this varied island is natural landscape: dunes, beaches and woods, as well as shallows and a polder.
