Charming composition, Romano. I don't care for cut-and-paste wikipedia info; I'd rather have your own thoughts at the time of the photo with perhaps an historical side-note. However, the photo stands alone as a story in itself. Very nice work, and an instant favorite. Lisa

Gorgeous, Ian! I hiked Mt. Baker a few times, years ago. You've captured a stunning image and brought back fond memories of a beautiful place. I love the way it seems here to float above the earth and sea. Kind regards, Lisa

Good morning, Andrew, Too bad you didn't go north and west to see the hills and farmland of Hunterdon, Warren & Sussex Counties. People not from around here tend to see New Jersey from the eastern highways -- as you apparently did. The 6-lane connections between dirty cities is hardly the way to see any state. If you ever come back this way I hope you'll do a little more investigating -- on the back roads -- before pronouncing judgment. By the way, I've looked at some of your other photos, and you're right, this is your worst. Regards, Lisa

Beautiful, rich colors, Steve; sometimes these little, often overlooked scenes are the most fetching for their intricacy and simplicity. Composition and lighting are lovely. BTW, is this the "Wahclella" for which your spirit is named?

Wow, yes, very "Van Gogh." Nothing like a sunset over the bay. They tend to be almost supernaturally colorful in Jersey towards late August for some reason. I have a few photos of Barnegat Bay around this time, a little north of where you are. Haven't been down there this year, but you remind me of what I missed. Thanks for the view. Regards, Lisa
