Hi Tom, Captured the moment in the photograph. I agree with Nelu Goia in over use of shadow/highlight in the image. Here is a way you can rectify the problem 1) duplicate image in a new layer. 2) do your shadow/highlight manipulation with radius set at the same as that of your image. i.e if your photograph is at 300dpi then set radius at 300. 3) change the blending mode of the layer to luminosity. 4) adjust the colors using selective colors/sponge brush at saturate or whatever method you are proficient with. Impressive shot. You need to do some work on the image i.e levels, white balance. In India we have to climb above 5500m to get this kind of snow. It is next to impossible climbing in winter due to the terrain. Alpine climbing is not possible in the Himalayas. The base camps for the peaks are very far from the road head it may take at least 3 days to reach you base camp, that is for the peaks close to to road head. Some peaks it takes a week to reach base camp. THe toughest base camp march is for the Nanda Devi, it takes 11 days and is an expedition to reach base. Read the book about Nanda Devi by Shipton and Tillman.
