    Hi Mariuz,
Lovely beach view from this dry looking coast. It's good that you chose a viewpoint right next to the waterline. Even though the waves are very gentle they look quite nice from this close angle.

    Hi Jean,
Mountain slopes and their reflections make an X, which makes the composition quite interesting. That little hut above the water is a special detail. Foreground hay looks nice too.

    Hi Ian,
Quite surprising view. Water level is right on the step of that building. And somehow we get the feeling that this is not a rare event, even the lady does not seem to be happy about the situation. Funny how muddy colour of water matches with the wall paint on the left.

    Hi Adrian,
While the open space in the background is overexposed, this is still wonderful. Or maybe it is part of the charm, giving strong feeling of arriving from woods to a sunny place. Panoramic format fits perfectly, and this feels real wilderness. That path is quite narrow too.

    Hello Miguel,

THis is another fine photograph from Belfast, taken from your archives. It must have been taken in spring with the tulips looking so colourful and fresh, in the f/g. It's a big, impressive castle, showing well kept exterior and many visitors.

I wonder if a wedding had taken place for you seem to have included people in fine clothes, in front of the castle. They animate the scene of the castle nicely.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Ciao Caro Silvio,

Your photograph shows clearly how this church appears to have suffered from the ravages of time and weather, with walls crumbling and roofs missing.
It is a very well composed photograph, showing the ancient remains.

    Hello Mariusz,

Things used by locals are always a good recommendation!

I knew Luciano would approve, he is a big beach lover!

This could be an advert for Crete, though it seems they may be keeping this a little secret, for the locals. At a time when Covid is still affecting the number of travellers, this beach looks very well attended.
Your well chosen viewpoint uses the incoming surf as a good separation line between the azure, light-reflecting water and the soft sand. The surrounding slopes make the third, contrasting textured element.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Jorge,

I agree with Gert, had the lady not been present, you might have chosen a different angle, not facing direct sunlight but we still get an excellent impression of the size and decoration of the cannon, and this lady, posing as glamorously as possible added amusement to your photograph!
I just love the anecdote about the Brazilian interpretation of 'cannon'! It just fits so well!

    Hello Ike,

The cloudy sky and the steepness of the rocky cliffs create a very dramatic scene.
The road snakes along the cliff side, with tall barriers for protection, and we see it lower, in the b/g, as if guiding towards the surging sea!
You gave us drama which would not have been so apparent had this been a bright, sunny day!

    Hello Malgo,

How thoughtful and kind, to offer free tours ... that doesn't happen very often!

You have no option but to include the traffic lights in your photograph; to have been closer, would probably have prevented you from including the whole of the building.
I rather like that the sign is at red ... signalling stop and and look at the City Hall! On the other hand, had it been at green, it could have signalled go ahead, explore!

Either of your shots could have worked as a main shot! Each has its own merits.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Witaj Krzysztof,

This is a monument showing a very proud and seemingly well respected commander.
I like how well you have shown the figure against the plain b/g of the blue sky. There is nothing distracting from this viewpoint.
The close hedge and the distant hills create a fine sense of depth.

    Bonjour Philippe,

There were tempestuous times in history, too, but not so well reported as nowadays. The Templars had a lot of involvement and there are interesting stories about their presence in France.

I like how you have composed your photograph.
WE are succinctly guided between the two more ordinary buildings to meet the elevated splendour of the church.

    Hello Ian,

Two fine photographs, revealing the difficult working conditions during the rainy period.

There is much activity in the w/s, which could have been a stand-alone photograph, but, like you, I prefer this one.
This one has a human story to tell.
At first, we can suspect that there is antagonism between the two, sitting with backs to each other. Though there is no dialogue, human emotion always ranks high on a scale of interest!
It is innocent, according to your notes, but ... does the photograph give us that impression!

    Have a good day,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Piotr,

So you did see the statue which I referred to yesterday! This is definitely the statue that I remember from The Achilleion Palace!

You have photographed the statue from a good viewpoint, to show the agony of expression, and from his body language. It is a fine sculpture.

You have used a good dof to focus on the sculpture yet give us a sense of place.

    My warm regards,

    Hello Gyorgy,

This is a very beautiful setting and very carefully composed in your photograph. Some people seem to take interesting shots but yours are always carefully composed as well as having interest.

I like how the tree strongly commands the f/g, its shadows adding to the sunlit patch beneath its boughs, spreading interest outwards, across the carpet of rusty leaves.
The second tree links well, in an opposing corner, drawing attention to this very attractive, grand house.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Ricardo,

It must have been eye-catching to visit this lagoon on such a beautiful day.
The colours and the shapes of the scenery are beautiful in their own right and then, repeated for us in the mirror-like reflections.

The only bad part is the name - Mosquito Dam!
Do mosquitoes breed in the still water?

    Hello Benny,

This is a good follow-on from your previous photograph. The houses are colourful and characterful.
I remember John showing this stepped-like style on gables, seen on houses in Bruges. He did tell me the name for it but ... just cannot recall!

It's a fine exposure, showing crisp details.

    Hello Lars,

I am pleased that you showed us the photograph of the Red Town Hall in its entirety so that we could understand to what this tower belonged. But, like you, I would have chosen this as the main post just because of the strength of the impact and its rarity as a composition.
I like the idea of ... go ahead and view this rather striking building.
