Hello Pete,
Interesting gothic architecture. Obviously the very top is for defense? And I wonder the purpose of all the smaller holes, windows?

Hi Ray,
Being a castle buff I wondered to.
And being right under the machicolation slots, they wouldn't go the defence of the place. And if they are gun ports!
And they don't look like a later alteration.
