Focusing on the boats in the foreground was a good way to deal with the haze in the air, which renders the mountains in the background unsuitable subjects. It's a clean image that would benefit from warmer light. Lake O'Hara is an amazing spot but it's not easy to take great photographs there.

One of the most frustrating things I found with my trip at Ohara is the fact that though its so beautiful the weather was very cloudy for the most part which played havoc with dynamic range from dark shadows to bright clouds. A few interesting settings on the Canon 7D brought some surprising results though too. Thanks for stopping by.

Default It's a tough spot...

In season it is quite tough to get a spot on the bus there on a short notice. The mountain weather does not like advanced planing...
