Great EstudioChispa 2013-10-31 14:24

Interesting tale -- one day, you go zero-of-of-200, the next day, at least 1-for-2 before the game is stopped due to midges.

I imagine (not intending a slight in any way) that there is some PP in this scene, but that this is pretty much what you saw that morning. So I have to ask, did you wonder what had gone so very right as to grant you this fantastic rosy sky and glowing green glen?

Best regards,

hi russ,
thank you for your very kind comments about my pictures. i use photoshop, but not very much. i adjust exposure with the 'levels' tool, i sometimes use the 'curves' tool to adjust contrast, and sometimes adjust saturation levels, either up or down. but most of my time is spent with the clone tool removing dust marks! i will fix the horizons if they are crooked and if i post to sites like this i will use the sharpen tool. a friend compares my use of photoshop to having a ferrari and then driving it in second gear all the time.
but maybe it's also because i try to do most of the work when i'm out making the picture. i always use a tripod which immediately means i have greater control over depth of field and can use longer exposure times. i mostly always use graduating filters to help even out exposure between the bright skies when the sun is low, and the darker landscapes. all this helps produce more impressive colours. and of course the use of the tripod also helps ensure a sharper image. not to mention getting into the position in the first place to take advantage of the low light.
kind regards,
brian
