Default To Guenther: Meran in Winter

Guenther,

Thanks for your comments and lucky you! I was in Meran twice, in spring and in summer and found it delightful and stunningly beautiful on both occassions. I wonder how is it like in winter though? Is all the vegetation still lush? Are Trautmansdorff Gardens closed in winter?

I have heard the air temperature rarely falls below 11 Celsius and the snow is quick to melt away, except in the mountains. I am planning a trip there this winter.

Thanks and have a nice day!

Manu

Hi Manu,
the winter climate in Meran is definitely milder then in the side valleys where the ski resorts are, but I think a temperature always over 11°C is too optimistic, it can also be below zero, but maybe not an many days ... Yes, I think Trautmannsdorf is closed during the winter.
Regards
Günther
