Default Color correction?

Hi.
Today I tried to upload a new version of one of my shots, I've gotten some pointers on it and have implemented some of these.

Here's the catch...

AS I upload I notice that the color is really different from the picture I just saved. I open it in every viewer I have and send it to other pc's in the house to see if there is something wrong with my computer. And it looks ok.
I try and upload it to Te ( asuming that the thumbnail is wrong), but the shot comes out heavily desaturated.

Has anyone come across this problem before? Does anyone know what may be causing this?
I would love to hear some ideas as I can't upload shots that don't look like what the shot I took.

Cato

I jUst noticed that the color scheme here corresponds to my Microsoft Paint but it is very wrong compared to Photoshop cs2 where the shot was edited and saved...

Yes but we must see your picture before giving advice.

Default Jippi

I figured it out:)

The original image was not background layer in the original version ( don't ask me why).

I used the layer>new>layer from background... function, so that I could make a frame.
This caused some type of problem when saving, I don't know what, but it discarded the color changes I made.

The solution was to copy the image into a new document of the same size
(ctrl+a, ctrl+c, ctrl+n , Enter, ctrl+v).

I then saved it and voila..., it worked.

I suspect you have a colour profile loaded under Photoshop, which alters the way colours are displayed - unfortunately most web browsers aren't profile aware. So when you look at the picture in (say) IE, the colours are too pale.

Solutions: Use SaveForWeb, don't include the profile in web images and always test in a browser before uploading.
