Great scalerman 2006-12-05 12:13

Biplav: this picture says alot, but it has technical flaws. Try using the curves box to lighten the shadows a bit. But besides those quibbles, I think it's a bravely snapped shot and carries a full complement of environmental trappings. well done. regards, c

Default To scalerman: Lens flare problem + dark scene.

Thank you for the compliment Caleb.

As you can see, the lady is very dark complexioned and the scene was somewhat dark. My old 50mm FD lens tends to cause too much flare. As you can see the left side of the image is brighter due to the flare from the fire while the right side seems darker. Its a problem that I have to live with as long as I use this old lens.

I'm not a Photoshop expert. Hence I dont know what "curves box" is. I will check it out.

I have removed noise and adjusted the brightness and contrast a bit.

Thanks for your comments. :)
