I just wanted you to be aware that a person stole one of my daughter's photo from TrekEarth: http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/North_America/Canada/photo43171.htm
and illegally entered it into a Fuji camera only competion. The photo placed 2nd, and this guy Steven Baker won 200 pounds. It is unethical. You can see the website here: http://www.fujifilm.co.uk/myfuji/community/competitions/ |

Incredible Diana. Take immediately contact with Fuji and have them follow up this disgusting behaviour vs. this Baker guy, and ask them to remove the photo from the result list asap.

Diana,
You should make the fuji competition organisers aware of this. And strongly request remove the shot from their site. I totally agree with you that it's shameful and unethical. Good luck. Rob |

Yes your daughter should ask for the money too instead of this thief enjoying it....

Hi Jack - I've sent emails to Fuji asking them to remove the photo from their website. I haven't heard back from them yet. I have also posted a message about the competition fraud in every Forum on the Fuji site. It's a pity people can be so dishonest.

Hi Diana,
If what you are saying is correct (and I don't doubt it for one minute) Fuji should throw the book at Steven Baker. It's bad enough a commercial site stealing an image and placing it in, say, a travel brochure - then being caught out. However, this looks downright fraudulent to me. You'd have to consult a lawyer but, if this guy has stolen your daughter's property, told Fuji that it is his and then accepted financial reward...... Pity you're not in the UK as well - but you could put the story in the hands of the UK photo press and get this character some seriously bad PR. Maybe he'd think twice about doing it again...? Good luck in pursuing this as far as you possibly can. Paul |

Fuji head office in London has been informed. Hopefully they can ban this man from the website.

That's a shame. It's a great photo and I've seen it many times. I'm sure they'll pull it. If not for the copyright infringement, then the fact that was actually Kodak film used. Wouldn't that look bad - Fujifilm's website showing how good a shot of Kodak film can be?
