Great mkamionka 2021-10-06 1:50

Hi Chris,
I see you have managed some blue hour photos in Marrakech. I am always double worried about taking our an expensive camera after dark, even in the UK. I am also tempted to take some blue hour photos in Marrakech although today I read about a bomb which exploded in one of the Jemaa el Fna cafes in 2011...
Great combination of the palm trees and the minaret.
The couple on the bench adds a nice touch too.

Default To mkamionka: Morocco

Hi Mariusz

Unfortunately, all the hucksters and charlatans in Morocco seem to make a direct beeline for the major tourist sites. The country is generally safe but marred by the presence of a lot of these rapacious and unscrupulous parasites. I found some of the people in Morocco quite rude and they regard all foreigners as walking banks from which they would like to make a withdrawal. You do need to haggle and bargain and start to walk away if they won't drop the price. I found Egyptians much more accommodating and that country is relatively safe & much friendlier compared to Morocco . But Europe was quite dangerous in 2016 too with bombs and knife attacks and truck and vehicle attacks all over the continent including Nice, London & Manchester. Seems to have settled down now that Islamic State has largely been smashed.
