Bonjour Marie Louise,
I thought it is a must to climb the dome but you have discouraged me a bit... I hope you don't have to stay in the line for the whole week :)
Great composition here with selected fragments of the rich architecture.
The blue sky adds a nice touch and color here.
Very well seen and captured,
M

Actually, the most popular spots now have to be booked online in advance. Then the waiting is rather short. To make surre, it's best to book round 9 a.m. The crowds haven't all got up yet :-)
Have a good night. Marie-Louise. |

Marie Louise: are you talking about Florence or world in general?

I can't really talk about the world in general as I haven't travelled far away for a quite a while.
But I can talk about Rome, Florence and Paris. And this is the way it goes in those cities (in the way of booking in advance I mean). But that only applies to the very famous places like : --Florence : Duomo- Uffizi gallery- Palazzo Pitti- The other places, we visited without pre-booking and without too long a queue. There are also lovely parks : Bobboli - Giardino dei semplici (paying)... Giardino della fortezza - Parco delle cascine - Giardino Bardini - Piazza Michelangelo....(non paying) --Rome : Vatican- Colosseum- Foro Romano- Galleria Borghese. Then there were lovely places like Caracalla Baths, a very relaxing place with hardly anybody. Trastevere or Lungo Tevere, completely different from the mass touristy places.... I hope I have helped you a little. Kind regards. Marie-Louise. |
