Hello Ike,
Lovely capture of this bird against the colourful background of the blooming jacaranda.
Very pleasing picture to the eye , and I think the bird thought the same :-)
Kindest refards.

Bonsoir MarieLouise,
Lately it became apparat the Mayna birds were an invading specie, driving out older birds specie's from Israel - some were completely disappeared since. Not such a nice bird, unfortunately. Thanks for passing by, Ike |

Indeed, invading species are no good for the environment. However was the maina introduced to Israel or did they just fly into the country ? It's pretty easy for birds :-)
Jacarandas are not natural trees to Israel either are they. I saw them in South Africa, and was told, despite their beauty, they were bad for the environment, they pump too much water off the soil. Also, I think the disappearance of some bird species are not only due to invading others, but as well to our modern ways of life. Pesticides, Insecticides, decreasing of their natural environment.....:-( Thanks for sharing. Marie-Louise. |
