Hello Paul,
These high speed trains are fantastic. From Kunming to Guangzhou ordinary train takes 28h 44min. High speed train is 6h 22min. It costs 63 euro second class and 89 euro first class. Gert wrote that he went from Changsha to Kunming 35 hours. Now it takes 6h13m, costs 65 euro, 1070 km. Impressive! Ordinary night train from Kunming to Lijiang, Soft sleeper, comfortable, 30 euro.
