Great mkamionka 2020-09-22 3:50

Hi Jorge,
I was at first surprised to note that a place in Moscow was called after Pskov and that they mention a victory. Polish king indeed did not enter the Pskov but he has won that war and the Russian tsar had to give up much of his lands in consequence of that. It was a small satisfaction for Russians that the town was defended, but the war was actually lost.

Either way the place is quite attractive, I like very much the red white architecture of this church and it works even better with the blue sky at the back.
Fantastic colors,
beautiful pace,
M

I found this article of Fodors's:
This majestic five-dome church with blue cupolas studded by gold stars, built in 1657 by merchants from Pskov, stands right next to the Romanov Palace Chambers in Zaryadye. The bell tower is an addition from the 19th century. The interior of the church is somewhat bare, though there are a few impressive old icons and frescoes.
