Thanks for your critique - you are right about the tripod, there was probably no need to use one at such a shutter speed. However, as I was using a powershot A400 at the time(which has no manual controls) I had little control over diaphragm. Perhaps using the landscape setting would have helped though? I'd love to go back there one day and try a similar shot with a different camera!
