I think Penang is one of the best places to visit and see old retro shophouses of the Straights Chinese,timeless atmosphere Ally.

Hi Jan,
Malacca old town is another idea location to visit, it was listed by UNESCO as a historical city too. Beside Malacca, Perak also have some beautiful Chinese old towns, ex : Kampar, Bidor, Tapah, Teluk Intan...etc. Chinese old town also found at Pahang, Sarawak and Johor too. Similar type of old architectures at capital city Kuala Lumpur are demolish rapidly and replace with moden architectures. Many old Chinese houses were destroyed few decades years ago while Colonial government against the communist. Thanks for the viewing and critique, have a good week. Regards, Ally
