Hi Jorge,
Interesting observation. Very well used damaged poster to illustrate it.
Yes the situation is complicated.
The problem is that these days democracies in the Western World are suffering as well. Choosing Trump or Brexit is the best illustration for it.
The problem is that there was a moment when democracies were powerful but it somehow slipped, that time was wasted. Now the inequalities in societies like US or UK are so big and the focus on economic growth is so high that there are more and more unhappy and/or not well educated people. They don't make good decisions.
There is also this group of professional politicians who don't know anything about the world but they are in power. The best illustration is situation with pandemic. The leaders obviously don't understand the situation because it is too complex for them and yet they don't even know who should we choose as advisors.
There are a lot of other traps as well. For example EU tries to agree on some universal values, one of them being respect for human being, human life. Everybody should be equal. In consequence of that all people from Africa or Asia have in their opinion the right to move to EU.
So democracy takes small steps forward but judging by EU it takes also a lot of steps back. Too many subjects are not politically correct to discuss and in the result people have fake opinions in public but vote according to their real believes like in the case of Brexit.
The media too often take one of the sides not being objective. That is also causing a defect to the democracy.
The situation is bad and I think it would require an honest public discussion on many subjects.

a problems with immigrants in europe is they use the laws of community when they are nice for them and use the tribal or religious usages as a supreme law, when they are living in their original countries they say they are democratic, but when living in europe they aren't. take care jorge |
