Great holmertz 2022-01-10 7:43

Hello Bev,
I am glad to see you back. I hope you haven't been ill.

This is a very pretty photo, so very sharp and taken from such a good and close angle. The bird seems to be watching you, seemingly not very afraid. There is an orange leaf in the blurred background that matches the chest and face of the bird perfectly.
If I would take part in the Swedish "bird counting" from my windows there would be a heavy dominance of magpies and crows.
Best regards,
Gert

Default To holmertz: Bird Counts

Thank you for your critique, Gert.

The inclusion of magpies and crows would still be significant, revealing how well they are succeeding where others may not be.

We are encouraged to make the food more difficult for such birds to access as they predate the eggs and nestlings of smaller birds.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
