To PaulVDV: Sheepstor

  • Hi Paul, the Sheepstor, comes from the sheep and the tor.
A tor is a dramatic outcrop of granite, usually standing on top of a hill.
Each tor has its own unique and distinct formation.

The small village/hamlet is situated beneath such a tor.
Thanks as always for your continued support.

    Kind regards, Jean.
  • Thank you Jean,

Now that I read your answer I seem to remember somewhere that you once explained the meaning of 'tor' but I had forgotten ...

Maybe I was distracted by the beautiful tower of the church ...

    Best regards,
    Paul
