I like your idea
with your composition, if the man walking into the frame instead of going out of the frame, might be perfect. and maybe the crop a little bit too tight on the left.

The main idea about the workshop was to give more value to the only human figure and to achieve better focus on the part of the picture which is much more powerfull, that is the right side. I agree that it would be better if the man was facing the other way.
