Great Emiel_Skyfreak 2006-10-11 8:31

Very good shot, I like this weird subject. I've never seen a lighthouse like this.
Very rich colours, like the usual contrast between red and white. Nice compo, however I wonder how it looked if placed left or right in a landscape view, more background would also be nice I think. The horizon is a bit slanting, also the lighthouse seems to be standing a little crooked, I think you should rotate it a little countnerclockwise.
Very informative note, thanks for sharing view & info.

Default To Emiel_Skyfreak: crooked

Thanks for your nice critiques Emiel!
Concerning the question of the "crooked", well... Ive tryed to change it so many times before the posting, but I noticed that maybe it is not crooked. Please take a look at the most outside red ring of the base, just downside the white portion with the windows. Youll see that it is tight to the right, because it is larger on the right side comparing to the left side, maybe to support the light tower, I dont know. The landscape at background in the right side of the lighthouse is closer to my POV comparing to that portion at left. So, its confuse, and you are right about the sensation of tiltness.
Well, it's nice to talk with you!
Take care!

Default Re: To be crooked or not to be crooked

Indeed that's also a possibility, the right side of the shore in the distance being closer than the left side, that can give a crooked feeling.
Also saw that the right side below the railing is it could indeed be only a sensation.
Thanks for careful looking.
